About Stinson Beach 

Stinson Beach is located in Marin County, approximately 20 miles north of San Francisco along Highway 1. Getting to this small beach town is half the fun of visiting – narrow, steep Highway 1 curves around the mountainside as gigantic cliffs drop off into the Pacific Ocean on the other side. It’s one of the most scenic drives in the United States and is definitely for the adventurous. Once here, the main attraction in this small seaside community is, of course, the beach itself. Three and a half miles of gorgeous sandy beach are available for swimming, sunbathing, beachcombing, surfing, hiking, kite flying and sea kayaking. Lifeguards are on duty May through October. Across from the beach, there is a 51-acre park with more than 100 picnic tables. A snack bar is available on the beach April through September. There are many beautiful rooms and cabins available for rent in and around Stinson Beach, as well as an excellent choice of restaurants.
